There’s a Map on My Lap! by Tish Rabe is very advanced, but fun to read together! Start by reading just a few pages at a time if the content seems too difficult. Read the book throughout the month, and use spatial words while answering these questions:
How many different kinds of maps can you find?
What are different places you could map out? Your house, town, or park?
What are the objects in the bedroom? How can you tell? (Pg. 14-15)
What do you think N, S, E, and W stand for? (North, South, East, and West) (Pg. 16-17)
What is the shortest way to get from the firehouse to the fire? (Pg. 28-29)
Which house is closer to the orange house: the pink house (E2) or the purple house (A2)? How do you know? (Pg. 34-25)
