A mother and daughter read the book “There’s a Map on My Lap!” by Tish Rabe.
There’s a Map on My Lap! by Tish Rabe is very advanced, but fun to read together! Start by reading just a few pages at a time if the content seems too difficult. Read the book throughout the month, and use spatial words while answering these questions:
  • How many different kinds of maps can you find?
  • What are different places you could map out? Your house, town, or park?
  • What are the objects in the bedroom? How can you tell? (Pg. 14-15)
  • What do you think N, S, E, and W stand for? (North, South, East, and West) (Pg. 16-17)
  • What is the shortest way to get from the firehouse to the fire? (Pg. 28-29)
  • Which house is closer to the orange house: the pink house (E2) or the purple house (A2)? How do you know? (Pg. 34-25)
