Mapping My Day

Read Mapping My Day by Julie Dillemuth together! The first time you read it, look for spatial thinking words like scale, landmark, symbol, cardinal directions, and route. Read the book several times throughout the month, and try answering these questions:

• Can you find the treasure chest box on Flora’s treasure map? How did you know where to look? (X stands for the hidden treasure chest box.)
• What landmarks can you see on the treasure map?
• Can you use your finger to trace the routes that Flora can take to school?
• What landmarks does she pass when going on Mom’s route? What about Dad’s route?
