Which Way to the Treasure?

VocabularyVocab:

BEHIND, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, STRAIGHT, THROUGH, UNDER, ON TOP, BETWEEN

A young boy holds up a printed out star and smiles.

Print and cut out the stars, then hide them each in different places around your home (or outdoors). Also hide a treasure (like a sticker, pencil, toy, or juice box).

Use spatial language to give directions on how to find each of the stars you’ve hidden.

  • Indoor example: Take a left and go into the kitchen. Then look under the kitchen table.
  • Outdoor example: Walk to the bushes in the backyard that are the farthest away from us. Look on top of one of the bushes.

Once all six stars are found, give directions to the treasure!

Note: Learning left and right takes repetition and practice, usually over several years! Take your time and have fun together!
